Austria.. 30/8

"who's on tarp-hitting duty?" an important, yet novel question as we huddle within the confines of our tent as its battered by the Austrian elements; causing our makeshift tarp cooking shelter to sag as the puddle forms.

A long day of travelling today, leaving the less welcoming but still beautiful Swiss town of Horw this morning and heading across to western Austria, finding ourselves in the town of Landeck, being battered by the rain , surrounded on all sides by the jaw dropping peaks of the austrian alps, with daunting rapid flowing rivers every direction you walk.

Not to say this isn't a beautiful town, but it makes the calm, windless, warming sun of Zug seem a fond and distant memory.

Highlight of an otherwise bland travel day for me would have to be the Brie and tiptree onion relish sandwich I was able to enjoy on platform 3 of Buch train station, courtesy of the wonderful Sarah brown.
